Hi all,
Just popping in to ask how youβre sleeping.
Me? NOT WELL.
Iβve been waking up every night at 3 a.m. for a week. Granted, Iβm sick, but this is when I most need sleep. Because Iβm suffering, I made this little sleep edition, in case you also suffer.
So, here you go. A special How to Live Sleep Edition. Just for you.
If you missed this 3 a.m. letter I wrote for my friend Adam W, and for us, here it is again.
Must have glasses.
When I wake up in the middle of the night and want to listen to a podcast, I first put on my absolute favorite blue-light blocking glasses, so I donβt disrupt my circadian rhythm any more than itβs been.
I donβt think I could live without this meditation. FULL DISCLOSURE: I only do the first one. Itβs about 9 minutes long, I think.
Up next: my three favorite podcasts for sleeping (all from one magical human).
I could listen to Phoebe Judge forever. Her voice is so soothing and safe.
When I wake up in the middle of the night and canβt fall back asleep, I βplay again.β
And you? What are your favorite methods to fall asleep, or fall back asleep? Leave them in the comments!
Not Asleep in Brooklyn,
Amanda

Quick note: Nope, Iβm not a therapistβjust someone who spent 25 years with undiagnosed panic disorder and 23 years in therapy. How to Live distills what Iβve learned through lived experience, therapy, and obsessive researchβso you can skip the unnecessary suffering and better understand yourself.
